1 week!!!

I can not believe that in one week from today I will be in the United Kingdom. Packing has not been going well. I have no idea what to take and packing for 3 1/2 months is something I have never done. Well I can do it, but not keep it to 2 suitcases. I am so close to being done with this semester, yay! I am excited that this will be my last semester of classes and next semester I will just be interning somewhere, if Dr. Barry ever finds a school for me! This semester has been hectic, but no where near last semester. In the next three days I have 1 paper, 1 lab report, 4 final exams, and 1 report. Send good thoughts my way, I am going to need it sometime tonight when the semesterly final freak out will sure to happen.

Even though I am so excited to be in the UK, I am going to miss my friends that are graduating, because I do not know when I will see them next! Thank goodness for Skype! I hear that you can watch Auburn's graduation online, and if that is true, I will be doing that and clapping loudly for all my friends who are graduating on time (and not slacking like me :)) and giving them a big WAR EAGLE!

Favorites

Book- Harry Potter and Pride and Prejudice
Band- The Beatles
Movie- Love Actually and Shakespeare in Love

See any trends? I have always dreamed of going to England ever since I saw Mary Poppins and Peter Pan. This experience will literally be a dream come true.

8 days to go and my to-do is seeming more and more daunting. I have taken the past 2 days off from school work, maybe that was not my best idea. I am planning on dedicating the next 5 days to writing papers and studying for finals. I somehow also have to find time to pack. AHHH!

Time Flies!

It seems like it was yesterday when I got the au pair job. I was originally looking for an au pair job in Spain, so I could improve my Spanish before interning next semester. I was not having any luck finding a job. I told my mom that I was just going to stay in Atlanta for the summer and find another nanny job. The next day I started talking to this family from England. I am kinda obsessed with all things British. Talking to them just felt right and all signs were pointing me to go to Surrey this summer. I can not believe that I am leaving in 9 days! I could not be more excited, but I am starting to get nervous. When I mean nervous I am really talking about the next nine days. I have finals, projects, and papers that are all due. And on top of that I have to pack and move things from the office and clean out drawers in the bathroom so that Margot (my amazing new roomie) can move in with ease when she gets back from South Africa. I have never been away from my family for more than a month, and that was last summer when I was in Spain. Also the idea of packing from 3 1/2 months is very daunting.

I can not believe that I am so close to getting on that plane and leaving the States. It has always been my dream to live in London. I will be living in Surrey right outside London. I am actually living in the town where they filmed "The Holiday". I just have a feeling that this will be one of the best summer's of my life and I will have opportunities like I have never had before!
